Walk around Galway’s beautiful lanes and canals, photographing the city’s iconic vistas. With Galway Photo Workshops you will learn how to move away from your camera’s auto mode. Topics covered include adding movement through long-exposure techniques, how to frame a scene, adjust your camera’s settings in low light and generally having fun photographing in a new environment.
Group Galway photo workshops allow you to learn about your camera while chatting with other photographers. Nicholas will ensure that everyone is learning at their own pace.
About your teacher: Since 2009, Nicholas Grundy has successfully mentored Galway photo walks students towards producing wonderful images. His photographs appear in publications such as National Geographic Traveller, Cara Magazine from Aer Lingus, Canada’s WestJet in-flight mag, and many more. He is the European Photography Ambassador for Razer Camera Phones and was recently hired to photograph a month-long expedition into the Ecuadorian Amazon biodiversity hot-spot. Nicholas’ fine art prints have been exhibited at art galleries in Melbourne and Berlin, and they appear in the collections of the University of Melbourne and in various private homes and institutions across Australia, Europe, and the United States.
As a public speaker he has given talks at TEDx Galway, the University of Melbourne, NUI – Galway, and many camera clubs around Ireland.
Many of the photographs found in his portfolio were created with point and shoot cameras and mobile phones, proving that you don’t need an expensive camera to create striking images. See if you can determine which photos were taken on a point and shoot instead of a DSLR – most people cannot!
